I am about to embark upon a new and exciting adventure. It is new, different, and has me very excited. It's an event that will change the course of mankind forever.
OK, maybe not quite that historic.
Anyone want to guess what I'm about to attempt? I will have the answer in a few days when my ship comes in. That big, brown, square ship with the yellow letters on the side.
It's officially May. Winter is over. Period. Whether Mother %^&! Nature wants it to be or not. This attitude can only mean one thing:
I planted my tomatoes.

They went in yesterday, then a nice rain fell (again) last night. They already look happier than last night. I think they're happy that their little toes can finally stretch out. They're now out there in the garden with the peas, onions, bok choy, and beans. The cukes, melons, and peppers are still on my kitchen table growing like weeds. At the moment, things look like this:

That big thing on the end is this:

It's a trellis that I built to help my cantelope and honeydew stay off of the ground. Now, before you ask, the fruit will wind up having to be supported a little once they get large. That's where slings made of panty hose will come in. Thank goodness....I needed to get rid of those things. Haven't worn panty hose since the Clinton Administration.
In addition to getting a head start on the summer horticulture, I finished up the purple cardigan:

All it needs is some buttons, then I can hang it up until fall. The office is no place for long sleeves right now. Serious issues with climate control in that place.
The lace pullover is in a scrunched up phase right now. I joined the body to the sleeves last night, and it's now time for neck shaping and raglan decreases. I'm hopeful I can finish it tonight.
Then I get to plow through more stuff in Ikealand in anticipation of Stitches Midwest. Nothing like the dream of a yarn haul to get your butt in gear.
