Leona, I am so very sorry about your dad. I'm tearing up reading this. Your dad sounds like a heckuva guy to approach these last months like this. I'm praying for his comfort and that y'all make some wonderful memories.
(And ditch the guy, he ain't worth 2 nickels!)
Posted by Kris at January 13, 2010 8:33 AMOh my dear. I'm so sorry about your Dad. I hope that what time he has left will be peaceful and painless. You'll all be in my prayers.
And I'd go with "ditch the guy" too, though it might just be that he has no freaking idea what to say about your dad. Some people have a terrible time with that, and end up just blowing you off instead.
Been checking off and on and wondering how your dad was doing. Hope that he and your family can make some great memories.
Posted by eileen at January 13, 2010 5:53 PMI am so sorry about your dad. I'll be thinking good thoughts for him, for lots of good times in the next few months.
And what the heck is up with dudes? I don't understand why they can't just be honest. Sorry about that tood :(
Posted by Marisa at January 14, 2010 11:35 AMLeeAnn, there are no words to express my sadness after reading the news of your father. I'm hoping that he and your mom can make it to their 50th. It would be truly wonderful. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Posted by Cassy at January 17, 2010 9:09 PMI am so sorry to hear about your dad. I had a feeling that was the reason for the long silence, and have been keeping you all in my prayers. We went through this with my father-in-law with liver cancer. May you all store up wonderful memories in your time together.
Posted by Beverly at January 18, 2010 11:14 AMSorry to hear about your Father. I will keep your family in my prayers.
The guy is not worth any more of your time.

Lee Ann - so sorry to hear about your Dad. This time with him is precious - very difficult, but so precious. How fortunate he is to be blessed with a close, loving family. Take one day at a time - and enjoy this time as much as you are able.
